My goal was to design a time management system for families. A system that gives an overview of the families activities to the parents and clarity to the children. Based on this I began working on my idea after the summer holiday of 2006.
Once school started again, my kids (6 and 2 years young) began arranging more play dates. Within no time at all I had lost control of our scedule. I forgot hairdresser appointments, library books were late and I couldn’t remember my husbands evening appointments. My eldest son was constantly asking what day it was and what to expect for the day.
I worked with three diaries, a personal diary, family diary and a diary for the children’s activities. It seemed that a clear overview of our appointments, easy enough for everyone to use would be handy. In this way I could involve the children more in what the family was doing.
The only thing I could find, that seemed similar to what I was looking for was an office planning board. However, I didn’t want to use this, I couldn’t find anything that I liked enough to use in our home.
Besides which, the children could not read and I specifically wanted to include them in the planning. There was nothing else to do than design my own bizzyboard.
This is how bizzyboard came into existence.
